What's going on?

Gosh I haven't updated my blog in, what seems like- FOREVER!

Parker- He knows (I'm going to say) ALL his letters- upper and lowercase. He knows colors, numbers (recongnition and counting), shapes, and some traffic signs. Everyday he learns something new. He latest thing to do is ask for songs at bedtime. We call it "Parker's playlist" as long as he can't think of anymore songs- he's content with saying goodnight. So, please don't teach him any songs. ;)

Carter- He has learned to say "YYYYEA" and "no". The other day Brian said "what comes after 1?" ((we had just had Parker counting)) No joke- Carter said "TWO!" It was the WEIRDEST thing. Phil was over and witnessed it. I nearly died. He loves intimating his brother. Carter LOVES his daddy. If daddy is home- he wants nothing to do with me. We call him daddy's little oxpecker. :D

Brian- He's just finishing up his thesis and defends it on Friday!! :) EXCITING!!!

Me- I'm going to Toronto this weekend with my good friend Beth for Mother's Day!! :) The ME time is much needed.
I started selling Mary Kay!! :) Let me know if you want to host a pampering session (alone or with a couple close friends/family) It's actually a lot of fun.

I also started my certification to be a certified birth doula through DONA

I am SO excited.... I already had my first birth -- a successful VBAC-- and I have to do at least 2 more until I'm "certified".

I am one of the newest members of Doulas of CNY. www.doulasofcny.com is the website... check.it.out.
I've started a doula blog, it is private for now.... I'll make it public soon probably.

Needless to say-- I have been SO BUSY!!! But I'm loving it.

Happy FIRST Birthday Carter!

I can't believe my littlest boy is ONE year old! Where has the time gone?
For dinner, we had pizza and wings from Cam's. Carter LOVES pizza. We let the boys have a picnic on the living room floor. Of course, Carter had the "you are special today" plate.
Here is Carter's birthday cupcakes that I made. They actually came out really well! :)

His birthday party is on Sunday, and I cannot wait to see how he digs into his cake. He is REALLY going to LOVE it.

A birthday BOY can't go without a birthday boo-boo .... his boo-boo was shaped just like a cross (it is on his forehead). How ironic.

weekend at 'home'

Since we went 'home' to Kendall the weekend of Valentine's day we got to go to the Lakeview Community Church's Annual Spaghetti Dinner. Yum. Here's Parker and Uncle Jonathon.


We also went to see the bronze Jesus statues in Palmyra. They were breathtaking. Here are some of my favorites:

We ended up staying at Brian's parent's house Saturday night, and Parker was SO EXCITED to see the temple. He kept saying "temple" "temple".... so we drove up to the temple on Sunday. He was so excited!! :)

potty!

Potty "training" has been going really well! I am super impressed because Parker is only 27m old.

At church on Sunday, Brian took Parker to change his diaper.... when they came back I noticed Brian had frosting on his clothes. (Brian made the world's best cupcakes for my class- bc we had 2 birthdays that day).... I knew they had gotten into them.

Brian then leaned over and said "his diaper wasn't even wet!" AND "he went potty on the big toliet!" I guess when he checked Parker's diaper Parker pointed to the toliet and said "up" or something like that... Brian put him on and he peed!

Brian was so excited that he gave Parker a cupcake to celebrate!

This might not be exciting to you... but it is to me! :D

Happy 27th Birthday Brian!! :)

Parker and I made pancakes for Daddy while Carter played. We made Rainbow pancakes- complete with peanut m&ms (Parker's favorite) and sprinkles. They were topped with whipped cream and more sprinkles!

They gave mommy 2 Thumbs up! :D
We all then got ready and headed to church. When we got home, we put the kiddos down for their naps and I made Brian this for dinner!!
Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo (olive garden copycat recipe) with homemade alfredo sauce.
I couldn't find sundried tomatoes at the store, so those are missing. And we only had linguini noodles instead of fettuccine (but we all know- they all taste the same).

Delish. It is one of our favorites.



When the kids woke up from their naps Brian opened his gift (I forgot to upload pics of it) but he got socks!!! HOW EXCITING! (sense the sarcasm?!) They were new work/church socks (MUCH NEEDED) but inside each sock was a different m&m/reese's pieces treat. So, that made up for the crappy gift.



Brian wanted to take the boys for a ride in the wagon (which has been sitting unused since we moved back in October)..... So, you gotta do what the birthday boy wants!! :)

Carter LOVED IT!!!
