No YMCA
Holly wanted to sign up for a family membership at the YMCA, but she was disappointed we didn't qualify for a membership discount. This makes membership not terribly possible right now. To cheer her up, her mom suggested she would have sent in a more creative application like the one below...

Anderson's Computer Times
We have a little computer hog in the house. Anderson loves to claim the computer as his own and change it to his favorite YouTube channel. The one he currently loves is called Songs for Teaching where they play songs about the alphabet, shapes, and other useful concepts. Holly took a montage of his computer hogging below.

The term "hog" might sound harsh, but it is true. Even if no one is using the computer and he is content reading books in the room, he will stomp and try to claim the computer if anyone tries go on it, especially mom or dad. He just likes to know its always available for him.

Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day! Holly and I celebrated in our traditional way of eating seafood and hanging out together. She cooked up crab legs and I ate a generous amount of shrimp. We watched the Olympics for entertainment. I got her a new Pandora bead for her bracelet, but it wasn't quite her fancy so I will be exchanging it for another. We did have the company of the greatest Valentine's Day gift of all however....our own little Beckett!

Let the Games Begin!
The Olympics in Sochi, Russia started this past week. The opening ceremonies were on Friday night and guess which two big boys got to stay up and watch?
We ordered Chinese take-out for all of us and enjoyed the show. Parker and Carter didn't make it to the end of course, but they each made a valiant effort. I ended up carrying them each up to bed. Don't worry lads, there will be plenty more Olympics over the next two weeks

Date Night Log
I presented Holly with a belated Christmas gift yesterday. It's a record of all our date nights since November of 2007. We've had a date night every week since, and I wrote down exactly what we did, what we ate, who we were with, where we went, etc. I even took the time to mine the list for statistics, like what type of food we ate the most (Chinese Food) or who we double dated with the most (our hip friend Daisy Boyer). I intend to keep adding to it until we get older, and older, and older, until its a big, fat book our posterity can flip through.
And our date night last night? Well, it would appear like this...
2nd week of 2014...1/10/14. Chinese Take-Out, 2 episodes of Parenthood on Netflix, Coca-Cola, Putting a new humidifier together for the boys, Heavenly Hash Ice Cream, A Frozen Pizza (for myself who is always hungry), and an episode of Extreme Cheapskates on Netflix.

Lost Earring
This morning Holly was scrambling around looking for her earrings. She found one on the dresser, and she realized the other must have fallen off when the boys threw a small pillow there this morning. She looked for the earring and couldn't find it. She sent me up. I looked for twenty minutes and couldn't find it. Then, later this afternoon, she told Parker and Carter if they found it she would get them McDonald's for lunch. Well, they dashed up stairs and found it in THIRTY SECONDS! Bribery works. Or maybe it was a big scheme set up by them. Either way, Holly was thrilled to get her earring back.
